Engineer´s YAMK cap lyre for the member of the Union of Professional Engineers
Engineers who have completed a higher university of applied sciences (YAMK) have been designed own badge lyre. YAMK engineer's cap lyre is gold-plated Sterling silver. The diameter of the lyre is 19 mm.
In 1969, Heikki Silván, a Helsinki-based engineering student designed the engineer’s iconic headwear; an octagon-shaped cap with a black tassel that has a violet-colored velvet cover. The cap is the main identity of every engineer and engineering student starting from the first year of study.
The package contains the YAMK cap lyre and instructions for changing the lyre.
The manufacturer of the engineering cap is Salon Lakkitehdas Oy. Engineer's cap lyre is manufactured by Korutalo Widemark.
